2014/2015 FIL World Cup – Women’s Luge – Race 3

From Calgary, CAN

Another race, another gold medal for Natalie Geisenberger. The German yet again slid to victory, this time narrowly edging home-ice sliders Alex Gough and Arianne Jones.  The Canadian women both hung with the German, with Gough coming into Run 2 just .004 behind the German.  In the end, Geisenberger proved too tough to beat, taking gold before the Christmas break.

Germans finished fourth, fifth and sixth, with Tatjana Hüfner, Anke Wischnewski and Dajana Eitberger rounding out the top 6, and Kimberley McRae made it all Canada and Germany in the top 7 with her seventh place run.

Erin Hamlin led the way for the United States in seventh place, Emily Sweeney made it two in the top 10 for USA Luge, while Summer Britcher took 19th and Julia Clukey 23rd.
